RCCM Appeal

The RCCM Needs Your Support
An Appeal to Raise £150,000 per Annum for 3 Years

With 20 years experience, a database of over 85,000 CAM research citations and an established network of nearly 250 CAM researchers, the RCCM is in a unique position to shape the development of healthcare in the UK but we do remain dependent upon the support of donors to carry on our work in this field.

Whilst significant funding has been granted to the RCCM this is for specific projects, for example the NHS Priorities Project for the Department of Health and the Thesaurus development supported by the Kings Fund.

Thus the RCCM needs your support to continue providing the core services that are essential to its work to benefit patients and practitioners.

The funds already raised by the charity have been spent effectively and judiciously (see “Milestones”) and a great deal of investment of time and other resources has also been made by Trustees, Advisors and Founders of the RCCM.

This appeal is to raise £150,000 per annum for three years for the RCCM to continue to provide and enhance where appropriate its core services including:

  • Upkeep of the CISCOM database, to maintain it as an up to date, comprehensive and invaluable resource for CAM research
  • Running the CISCOM search service, whilst keeping the search fee at a reasonable rate to enable students, charities, patients and others to access CAM research information
  • Publication of information via the RCCM’s website, and technical development to allow access to more features and resources
  • Providing a CAM information and research service to the public, medical charities and the media
  • Research information and familiarisation with CAM for GPs and other health professionals
  • Participation in conferences, advisory groups and other initiatives to further CAM research.

The Trustees thank you for any help that you can provide.
